Here are four artworks from the River Glass series that have achieved "Real World" status. It's been so interesting to see these images, which I have been looking at constantly for a long while, begin to take on a life of their own, and to devolop such individual character, yet still be part of the group.

Glass Neon Series

These three from the "Glass Neon" series were developed together, and printed in big format - 12" x 18", framed in 18X24 frames. I'm quite proud of them!

There are piles of framed archival prints of my digital work stacking up around
my studio in preparation for this big exhibition. Most of them have never been
brought into the "real" (tangible) world before, and I am reminded again of how
much work it is to transform an image from the medium of light on a screen into
an acceptable reflective print. On the other hand, it's been very exciting and gratifying
to see these works printed out big and framed, and looking so good.

The image here on the invitation card is a hybrid, starting with a pastel painting,
which was scanned and transformed in the computer. The final print was worked
over with pastels again.

Jelly Bubbles

This one was fun to make. It started as a photograph of a floating jellyfish at the aquarium.

The downside of having so much fun with all these different apps is the low resolution of the finished image. But remember that this is a new, still developing technology, and resolution will improve.

"Copper Dreams:
Turbulence"

I've been jamming to get ready for a big exhibit that opens in a few weeks, (more about that anon) and have been working with the "Copper Dreams" series, which is still only about half sorted out.

This one uses pieces of several different photos taken with the iPhone 4, which tended to pump up the colors, especially the blues. Adjusting the levels tends to pump them up even more. Since I'm a color freak, that's usually OK with me. It's amazing just how many colors the copper could produce. I didn't make any of these colors up, but I did emphasize some, and tone others down.

I also like the seething directional motion in this one, and what seems to be a thumbprint.

"The Fallen Bouquet"

Here is the most recent step-by-step pastel painting demo. I have a big backlog of demos to get up, so it was especially satisfying  to get one done.

"The Thin Red Line"

One doesn't usually expect to find bright red paint markings sprayed onto leaves and rocks in the woods. It's an interesting juxtaposition. I ususally fuss with my pictures way too much, and this was no exception.
