These two contenders were tied, so they both go to the Winners page.
This process is very helpful to me, so a big "Thank  you!" to all who participated.

A new voting page,  with some new contenders, will be up in a few days.

"Propeller"

Or "Shark with a Crazy Mustache"

Flying into San Francisco in a small prop plane, I was struck by the reflections of the ground on the engine housing, so out came my trusty camera. I was surprised - and delighted - by what happened to the propeller blades, and by the shark-iness of the metal shape.

Survival of the Fittest

The Contenders vote page is up.

I like the idea of crowd-sourcing the survival-of-the-fittest decisions. I like viewers to be an active part of the creative process. The most direct way for you  to influence this process right now is to vote, to pass judgement on the "contenders."  You get to be the decider.

Every week the contender with the most votes will move up to the Winners page. The lowest ranked will be removed and new contenders will be added, somewhat like a tournament.

The Winners page will be the selection pool for competitions, exhibitions, demos, paintings, and future evolution and explorations. So the more you vote, the more you influence the process and the more it helps me.  Join the creative process. Vote!

Beach Glass

"Beach Glass, Globe"
This photo is from the voluminous Beach Glass series. It shows most of the glass as well as the beach sunrise and balcony. There will probably be more than one series from this marathon photo session

Catch of the Day - Photo

This is a straight photograph taken with an iPhone 4. It's camera tended to pump up the saturation a bit, and usually pumped up the blue, too.

Although it's very good to have the additional resolution and capabilities of the 4S, I do miss the funky blues from the iPhone 4.

I don't know the plant, but it was amazing. These colors were all there.

"Impending"

This image is a multi-program production.

Camera: iPhone 4s
Apps: Photoshop Express, Marblecam, Color Lake, AntiCrop, Retouch, and a little stint with the desktop Photoshop for some hand work.

It started with some wet rocks at the base of a fountain.
