THE CABBAGES ARE JUST NUTS!

After winter storm PAX was finished, the cabbages entered yet another phase. Endless entertainment for me, if a little rough on the cabbages.

Catch of the day - Purple Cactus

We were stranded in Tucson by Winter Storm Pax for several days. That was nice in that the weather was perfect. There is a cactus there that turns purple in the winter. The colors were just nuts! We took lots of pictures. Move over, cabbages!

This image has won Best in Show at the Art Leagues annual Patron's Show. There were close to 700 pictures in the show, so I'm especially pleased! It's one of the photographs taken at sunrise in Virginia Beach.

After the Party's Over...

The cabbages sort of survived the first polar vortex, but the second one may have done most of them in. The damage, though, just provides more forms and colors, (as if they didn't already have enough!) This is a little washed out, but I love all the colors.
