Creative Apps for Visual Artists There are many very good photo editing apps. These are the big editing suites that do many things and have many functions, including basics and filters. I tend to use the ones that have the most artistic and painterly effects, and that do the basics very well. High resolution is a big plus. This is not an exhaustive list, but here are five of my top ten favorites.
We're in California this week, enjoying the spectacular coast. The Garapata River, just before it meets the Pacific ocean, has carved this green canyon. I've been photographing it for several years, noticing the changes from year to year. This time we spotted a hawk nest perched on the side of a steep cliff face. It had one blue egg in it. You can see the nest in the second picture, a little below center about a third of the way from the right edge. The photo below shows the bigger picture. "Green River to the Ocean"
