This is from the portion of the trail near Bear's Den Lodge, close to where Highway 7 crosses into west Virginia.
I have a tiny watercolor set and a small pad of Montval watercolor paper that travel very easily, plus a few brushes with hollow squeeze handles that carry their own water. Very easy to travel or hike with.
I've been working with "lifting off " techniques, which the Montval paper does very well.
Nancy Freeman is a native of California who lives now in Washington, DC. A lifelong artist, she paints portraits and other commissions for a living, which keeps her traditional skills tuned and supports her decades-old obsession with computer art, and pastel painting.
She is currently using her 15th, 16th, 17th, and 18th computers, but remembers when Dick Tracy had to make do with a two-way wrist radio.
