Blue Plate Special
While visiting friends in Colorado, some fancy designer beans
caught my eye. I took them outside to photograph them,
choosing a blue spatter-ware plate as a background. But
when I set the plate on the patio table in the shade of a big
red umbrella, a whole galaxy of stars and nebulae exploded
into view amid a riot of red and purple arcs. I forgot about
the beans. They didn't stand a chance.
