The random effects of rain, sun and various construction materials during
installation of a new copper roof produced an amazing array of ever- changing forms, colors and textures. Although the copper was exposed to full view for only a few weeks before being covered by a new roof deck, I managed to take hundreds of photos of the evolving surfaces, from the shiny new rolls of copper to the weathered and oxidized landscapes and abstract shapes that emerged during the last few days of exposure. It will take a long time to sort through the entire collection, but here are a few to start. |
Five Triptychs - Pastel Paintings
I often work with the triptych format. I like the challenge of making each panel stand on its own, as well as be part of the whole. The edges, dividers and surrounding area are also an important element, making a built in frame or mat.
Sometimes they become electronic-pastel hybrids and change size or shape or get transformed visually and start a family line, or a single panel will go solo. |
